I Skipped My Period Last Month, For The First Time
![default](/r/images/default.png)
Question: I skipped my period last month, for the first time ever. I took plan B a few months ago. I have PMS symptoms and vaginal discharge. I took 4 pregnancy tests, at different weeks, and they were all negative. My last period was early March. I don't remember the exact date. I have an anxiety disorder and my anxiety and stress levels have been spiraling lately.

I also used to be on the Nuvaring but stopped in February.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
I have gone through your query and would like to offer some information.
Firstly, home pregnancy tests read well when performed with a fresh early morning sample of urine 3-7 days after the missed period. Since you do not remember the date of your last cycle, you may have done the test early. For a better clarification, you can get the blood test and a trans-vaginal sonogram.
Use of the emergency contraceptive pill sometime ago does not influence this cycle. Repeated usage can lead to hormone imbalances.
Anxiety can lead to abnormal menstrual pattern by disturbing the hormone rhythm.
Given your repeatedly negative pregnancy tests and premenstrual symptoms, you may see a period in a week. Else, see your health care provider for further assistance. Further management can be planned accordingly.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if I can assist you further.
regards,
Shanti.V.
