I Started Having A Cold About Three Weeks Ago Which

Question: I started having a cold about three weeks ago which developed from sneezing into a bad cough and now has subsequently cleared up. I also had a blocked ear for almost three weeks but it is now much improved. However, I often hear a ringing noise from it. I saw the doctor a couple of days ago who inspected my ear and said that everything appeared clear now and there was no longer any blockage. Why am I still receiving a ringing noise from my ear and how long does it take to clear up please?
Many thanks

Detailed Answer:
Hii. This ringing sound may be due to any residual ear infection due to cold or due to any sensorineural weakness of ear. You need to start decongestant tablet like solvin or phenylephrine along with antiallergic tablet levocetrizine. Start steam inhalation through nose. It will settle over time slowly. If possible do a hearing test and review. In the mean time start fluticasone nasal spray and solspre salone spray.

The doctor examined my ear over a week ago and confirmed it was now clear but is it possible that there is still fluid in the middle ear which causes the ringing and the blockage? How would a hearing test help?
Is it also normal to have the ringing in the ear so long after my cold finished?
Many thanks

Detailed Answer:
Hii. It is possible there is fluid accumulation in middle ear after cold has been resolved. That's why it is important to do hearing test pure tone audiogram and impedance audiogram. These tests can detect it. Yah ringing sensation can persist even after cold has been resolved. Please review with the reports and continue the spray.
