I Stopped Taking My Birth Control After My Last Period
Question: I stopped taking my birth control after my last period which started April 8th. I had a regular period then. I have since had unprotected sex multiple times. I still havent gotten my period. I was only on the pill for a couple of months and the last time I was not taking it I ended up having my period for longer than 5 days. Is this normal? I have had an ovarian cyst rupture before I was on birth control.
Brief Answer:
You can be pregnant,do a pregnancy test first.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor's service.
I read your query and here is my advice.
Currently you are having a delay of 8 days and you had unprotected sex multiple times so this means that you are having increased possibility of being pregnant . You have been on contraceptive pills and fertility is back imediately after stopping them.
So the best thing to do now is to do a pregnancy test to check if you are pregnant.
Taking count that before you had ovarian cyst having irregular periods delay or prolonged periods may be normal while having ovarian cysts.
Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
