I Take 2 Or 3 Mgs Xanax Every Night To
Question: I take 2 or 3 mgs xanax every night to help with anxiety and sleep. ive been doing this for 20 years so I obviously cant skip. I am functionally addicted even though I feel nothing when I take the pills but feel terrible when I dont take them. So when I have cocktails I wait to take the xanax until the alcohol wears off. ive read that alcohol dissipates at a rate of about one drink an hour so that should mean if I have 4/5 drinks at dinner I should wait at least 4/5 hours before I take my xanax. Please dont preach at me. Im 63 years old and have been taking this script for such a long time. im basically just asking you to verify the alcohol dissipation rate. thx in advance.
Brief Answer:
Alcohol disintegrates at a rate of about one standard drink per hour.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
Xanax(alprozalam) and alcohol have a synergistic effect and Xanax amplifies the effects of alcohol, and vice versa. If you take birth together there is chance of overdose.
The disintegration rate of alcohol is about one standard drink per hour and it it longer time in old age and chronic alcoholics.
It will be better to avoid or reduce the alcohol consumption while you are on Xanax.
Hope I have answered your query.
Thanks

Ok. I don’t drink chronically. And I don’t feel old at all. I just don’t want to make a mistake so I hear you saying that one std drink per hour is pretty accurate. I’m 6’1” and 210 pounds. When I wait as mentioned above I do not feel, act nor speak as if I’m inebriated. So I will stick with that schedule and it appears to me you are agreeing. Is that accurate? Thank you. Will close this out after your last answer.
Brief Answer:
You can stick to your current schedule.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
You can stick to your current schedule.
As you can tolerate the Xanax even after alcohol consumption, you can very well stick to present regime.
Thanks
