I Thought My Sciatica Was Bothering Me But Today AI

You may need an X-ray of the hip joint from what you're saying
Detailed Answer:
Good evening.
So very sorry that you're having that sort of problem. You've not provided very much other detail on your condition, however, I'm going to make an assumption that this type of difficulty bearing weight on the leg is by no means your usual state of things and that normally you are able to bear weight to get around....is that correct?
I am also going to make an assumption that you did not have a recent fall that caused a lot of pain in the hip on the same side that the leg is paining you, etc.
Are you already diagnosed with something such as OSTEOARTHRITIS or degenerative disease of the hip or spine? Perhaps, you've been experiencing a deterioration over time and now this is the worst that things have been? Or would you say you were practically walking and getting around like a different person before today? Did you hear any sounds followed by sudden pain like cracks, pops, or anything of that nature?
Did you feel a sudden sharp pain this morning when she tried getting out of bed?
At this time, if you are virtually immobilized or causing yourself undue amounts of pain and distress by trying to walk about normally and bear weight on your left leg then, this is not likely a problem with your sciatica but might represent a problem of a spontaneous dislocation of the left hip, or a spontaneous or pathological fracture of the head of the femur or the hip socket.
I believe the best thing you can do for yousellf in order to cause the least amount of damage and get answers quickly is for you to get an X-ray of the back and hip on the left. Furthermore, I believe you want to immobilize the hip and leg before betting that X-ray and do NOT want to be bearing any excessive weight on there until you know for sure there is no fracture or dislocation.
I think you should strongly consider calling for assistance from 911 and having them come to you at home in order to do an assess of your situation. They will get all of the information from you, check your vital signs, and then, if necessary transport you to the hospital for X-rays after immobilizing the hip and leg to make sure that whatever is going on can't get worse before they know what's going on.
You should also call your family to let them know what's going on but I wouldn't forego the 911 call in deference to them transporting you because the 911 people can get you prepped and situated for transport as well as get you DIRECTLY in to the ER as opposed of going by private vehicle in which case you are going to wait a good 6+ hrs. and you may end up doing something worse to the leg or the hip if it's not first properly immobilized.
If I've provided useful or helpful information to your questions could you do me the utmost of favors by CLOSING THE QUERY along with a few positive words of feedback and maybe even a 5-star rating if you feel it is deserving?
