Brief Answer:
By the scenario, you explain, there is no risk of HIV infection transmission
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service,
I carefully read your query and here is my advice:
HIV is an infection that is transmitted only through blood, through unprotected intercourse or from the mother to the child during pregnancy and birth.
In your case, I did not notice any risky encounters. For HIV to be transmitted by blood, the blood of an infected patient should be in contact with an open wound of an uninfected patient. Needle pricking is another way of transmission.
By what you explain, I would say there is no reason to worry about HIV transmission.
I hope this answers your query.
I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.

Dr. Antoneta Zotaj,

Hello,
Normally when you eat or drink it should not cause any strange feeling in the esophagus unless the food or the drink is too hot and we may feel the warmth in the throat.
If the thumb is inflamed we should be able to see redness or swelling in the area. I checked the uploaded pictures and there is no redness or swelling.
As for the urge to urinate, a urinalysis is needed. If this comes out normal then stress may be the cause of it.
I hope this answers your query.

Hello and welcome back,
Bone spurs are bone growths that happen in the joints with osteoarthritis (a form of arthritis that happens with aging). It does not generally cause inflammation (it does not cause local warms or swelling) and is generally identified by an X-ray.
In your case, comparing both thumbs (both thumbs at the same time- a picture that includes both thumbs would be helpful) would be more helpful to be able to notice what is abnormal. How long ago did you start with warmth in your thumb?
Have you hit your hand (thumb) against something recently?
What makes you worse or better?
Do you have pain in other joints?
If bone spurs are present, an x-ray will be able to say this for sure but I do not expect this to be much of a problem in patients under 50 years of age. So, it is less likely for you to have bone spurs in your thumb joints.
I hope this gives some answers to your query.
I remain at your disposal for further medical assistance.

How the thumb
How the thumb
Brief Answer:
Details below
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome back,
The thumb looks a bit swollen in the picture. In the previous pictures, it seemed a bit red in a small area, this is the reason I asked if you have hit it against something or not, to make sure if it is related to trauma.
If you have not had any trauma on the thumb recently and if you feel warmth and pain on the joint at the base of the thumb and if you have no problems with other joints very likely this is gout. Gout is a form of arthritis that happens due to crystals in the joint.
It is generally treated with Ibuprofen 600 mg every 6 hours after food. You should try to avoid food high in protein (meat, cheese, eggs) and alcohol as these make it worse.
If you do not notice any improvement in a few days or you notice any worsening, you will need to talk with your doctor.
I hope this gives some answers to your query.
