I Took 12 Days Of 60mg Prednisone For Bells Palsy

Question: I took 12 days of 60mg prednisone for bells palsy (I realize now the doctor made a big error) and tried to taper but only made it to 40mg due to severe side effects. Ever since my heart rate has been erratic and extremely high even at rest. Did I do permanent damage by taking too much for too long? Will this go away? Please help.
Brief Answer:
Symptoms would go within 4 to 6 weeks...
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your query and here is my advice.
Don't worry, there would not be any permanent damage.
Symptoms may be due to suddenly stopped medications without proper tapering. So, it may cause hormonal imbalance.
Our body produces enough amount of steroid hormones which may take 4 to 6 weeks to normalize. Along with that take proper rest.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
