I Wanted To Know If It’s Okay To Masturbate I Was Diagnosed With Epididymitis?

Question: Hi, I was diagnosed with Epididymitis about 4 weeks ago. My right testicle was sore about a week after my partner performed oral sex on me. When my doctor examined me, the doctor pressed on my right testicle and it was painful. I completed 10-day antibiotic course the doctor prescribed. My test came back with no blood or infection in urine test. I still feel soreness, but not often. When I feel the urge to urinate, that’s when I feel the soreness. However, after I urinate, the soreness goes away.
I’ve been abstaining from sex during this time. I wanted to know if it’s okay to masturbate? Will this slow down my recovery? I know not to have sex my partner at the moment. I needed to release if possible.
Thank you.
