Question: I was bitten by an insect at Cohoes, NY and now have tightness in my jaw. Had a bad allergic reaction but swelling has gone down at bite site. Feeling a bit achey too.

Thanks for the query.

It could be due to an inflammatory swelling.
As of now, you can use analgesics/anti-inflammatory combination like aceclofenac/serratiopeptidase for symptomatic relief.
If there is itching or redness, you can take an antihistamine like Levocetirizine also.

Nothing much to worry and it will settle in a couple of days.

However, if you develop signs of infection like blisters or pus then antibiotics need to be started.

Warm compresses over the affected region can help for a faster recovery.
