Question: I was diagnosed with Bells Palsey result of Lyme disease and all of the paralysis is gone as a result of treatment with prednisone and antibiotics. However, I ‘am having reoccurring pain behind and in one ear which was a symptom during the paralysis. It was gone but is now reoccurring a couple of weeks after the paralysis is gone.
Is this normal do I have to seek treatment?
Is this normal do I have to seek treatment?
Brief Answer:
Try painkillers first.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have read your question and here is my advice.Pain, sensory symptoms, paralysis, may happen in a number of patients with Lyme disease due to cranial nerves involvement.Since the paralysis is gone and there is only pain, it could be encountered after disease remission.Treatment with simple painkillers such ibuprofen should be tried. If Bell's palsy will recur or any other signs of brain involvement ( lethargy, headaches, photophobia, etc.) then you should seek medical attention.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Thanks.
