Question: I was diagnosed with pseudo seizures, and I’m not sure if I’m having one now. I am awake and can talk but I have a stutter that I havent had since I was a kid. Is it normal to have seizures awake that are associated with a stutter? What should I do?

Brief Answer:
relaxation techniques may be helpful at this point

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is understandable to be concerned.

There are different types of seizures.

Pseudoseizures are seizures that are thought to be psychological in origin, meaning that stress or emotional distress may cause the episodes. Persons respond to stressful events in different ways and in some, it can cause activity that may resemble a seizure
Though , may appear similar to an actual seizure, it is not, which is good.

This means that unlike other types of seizures there are no abnormal 'electrical pulses' in the brain, which is also good.

The symptoms are a physical sign of emotional distress/ stress.

The fact that you are awake and aware, makes it likely that a pseudo seizure rather than seizure may be present.

If you can identify any specific stressor or event that may be the cause of your distress and treat or address it in any way, this may help. Some persons may require assistance to achieve this because it can sometimes be difficult.
Relaxation techniques may help at this present time- muscle relaxation, deep breathing

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
