I Was Having A Bad Cough In October For About

I was given 2 times again 10 days each. Did not work. I phone the doctor again. Was given a pack of 6 pills one day and then 5 and then 4 etc. Did not help. I went to see a throat specialist told me that my problem was Acid Reflex and gave me a heavier dose of acid reflex medicine that was 8 days ago. I am still the same. I have pain in my left side of my throat, it feels like my tonsol is swollen and in fected, I have to keep clearing it, but the cough persist.
Should be further evaluated. Please see detailed answer.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I can understand your concern. Here is the advice.
As you have cough since October, this chronic cough condition should be evaluated.
As you have pain in throat, so it may be tonsillitis or laryngitis. Other causes of sore throat may be allergic reaction or acid reflux.
Please let me know do you have fever, difficulty in swelling, breathlessness, yellow or green phlegm, history of weight loss, acidity, choking sensations in throat? Kindly follow up with detailed history.
As there is no response to antibiotics, I will suggest you to do sputum culture sensitivity, chest X Ray, complete hemogram after physician consultation.
Other causes of chronic cough are allergic reaction, for that you can take tablet montelukast and levocetrizine after physician consultation.
Along with that take light food, continue batadine Gargling, take hygienic food and water and take balanced diet.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Thank you.
Regards,
Dr Shyam Kale.

may be due to allergy.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for reply.
As you don't have any other symptoms and throat culture is also normal, so I think it may be due to allergy.
For that you can take tablet montelukast 10 mg and levocetrizine 5 mg twice a day after physician consultation.
Along with that avoid allergen like dust, fumes, pollen at workplace and home also.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Thank you.
