Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome to Ask a Doctor service!

I passed carefully through your question and would explain that some cardiac palpitations (also called ectopic or extra heart beats) are quite normal in every healthy individual, related to physical activity or emotional stress, including anxiety.

So, I don't think that you are at any risk of something serious.

I would just recommend checking your thyroid hormone levels.

As you have cough, you should also consider acid reflux as a possible cause underlying your complaints. In such case, an antiacid or PPI (omeprazole, pantoprazole) would be helpful.

If palpitations persist, I would recommend performing an ambulatory 24-48 hours ECG monitoring (Holter), in order to examine your heart rhythm trends for a prolonged period of time and exclude possible cardiac arrhythmia.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!

Brief Answer:
My opinion as follows:

Detailed Answer:
Hello again!

If you and the doctor had facial masks, I don't think you should worry about it!

Did you wash your hands when coming back home?

These measures can help reduce the risk of infection significantly, coupled with the keeping of the distance from other patients.

I would recommend as follows:

Detailed Answer:
Hello again!

It is important to closely monitor your body temperature.

If you have fever ( which causes chills and sweats), it is important consulting again with your doctor as it could be a possible infection.

Otherwise, I would recommend checking your thyroid hormone levels.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!

Brief Answer:
There is no need to go to the ER.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again!

Your symptoms are not suggestive of sepsis. Your body temperature is not too high and your blood pressure are not too low (as it occurs in sepsis).

The borderline blood pressure values could be related to the stress.

So, in my opinion, there is no reason to go to the ER for the moment.

If you experience shortness of breath or high fever, it would be advisable going to the ER.

Anyway, as you have been dealing with night sweats and chills for 60 days, I don't think that going to the ER would be helpful! Instead, consulting with your attending physician and get further tests (for a chronic infection or thyroid gland dysfunction) would be a more reasonable step to follow.

I recommend taking Tylenol to make you feel better and have some rest.

Hope you will find this information helpful!

Wishing all the best,

Dr. Iliri
