Question: I was having plueral effusion. Now fuid is gone but still there is opacity in my left lungs. I am taking ATT drug for last three months. Today in my latest blood report potassium level is 7.1. My question is increse in poatssium level is due to ATT drugs? Opacity in my left lung will finish completely or not with ATT drugs?

Brief Answer:
Get done ultrasound thorax.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I have gone through the reports you have attached.
Your March chest x ray is suggestive of pleural thickening.
Pleural thickening is seen when fluid dried up.
But we have to confirm this, pleural thickening by ultrasound thorax.
So get done ultrasound thorax. If ultrasound is showing pleural thickening then this opacity will remain as it is for lifelong.
Your high potassium is not due to anti tubercular drugs.
In my opinion, you should recheck potassium level.
And if it is high again better to get done ecg to see Potassium toxicity effects.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
