2gm as a single dose or as 2gm for 2 consecutive days

Detailed Answer:
Hello there, welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service...
I've gone through your query in details...
I can understand your concern...

For vaginal infections (i.e. Bacterial Vaginosis), the standard dosing recommendation for Tinidazole is 2gm as a single dose or 2gm for 2 consecutive days.

So, since you've been given 4 500mg tablets, you need to take all 4 of them together (not spacing apart) on day 1 and repeat the same on day 2 also.

Let me know if I can assist you further...

Best Wishes...

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back,

It generally takes up to 7 days to clear off completely...

Yes, vaginal burning is a very commonly encountered symptom during this phase...Try to avoid douche, wear loose-fitting cotton undergarments and have plenty of yogurt/curd-based foods, drink plenty of water, it'll ease the symptoms...

Brief Answer:
please see the detailed answer below...

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back,

Diflucan can be taken but Prilosec (i.e. Omeprazole) should not be taken during this course due to possible prolongation of blood levels of omeprazole (which in turn can cause pain abdomen, nausea, vomiting, cramping, diarrhea like symptoms)...

So, in case you've taken Prilosec already, do not take any more, and report it to your doctor for an alternate regimen...So, if you meant to say muscular cramping of the abdomen, then this could be a reason (although it's another common and nonspecific symptoms in almost any abdominal/urogenital conditions)...

Hope this answers your queries...

Brief Answer:
it's probably the Prilosec as already explained earlier...

Detailed Answer:
Hello again,

It's probably the Prilosec which is not recommended during the course, as already explained earlier...So, in case you've taken Prilosec already, do not take any more, and report it to your doctor for an alternate regimen...

As I see, you've exhausted your follow-up counter, in case there are any further queries, kindly open up a new thread for any further discussions...
