I Was Lactose Intolerant So I Decreased My Dairy Intake And Have Not Been Having Diarrhea Barely Ever Since
Question: I have been experiencing some stomach discomfort for the past week/week and a half and both my stool and my breath smell like sulfur. I was put on pantoprazole for IBS-D about a year ago I think. I discovered that I was lactose intolerant so I decreased my dairy intake and have not been having diarrhea barely ever since. I am worried that the pantoprazole is causing me stomach issues now. I think it's supposed to stop me from creating stomach acid, I can't remember, but I have been feeling better with my IBS now that I've decreased my dairy intake so I thought that the pantoprazole could be causing an issue. I know that you're never supposed to Google your symptoms but I was looking it up in case it wasn't anything serious and something came up about taking PPI's for too long and that it can cause an issue.
