I Was Outside Yesterday Doing Yard Work (3:30-5:30pm) And This

Question: I was outside yesterday doing yard work (3:30-5:30pm) and this morning after feeling a soreness on my right hip I pulled a small tick from that spot. I was able to pull the whole tick out and have it alive in a container. The spot is red and sore looking so I squeezed it and put hydrogen peroxide on it. My question is do I have a Lyme disease risk and if so is there an antibiotic for this or is it even necessary? The tick is about one half a centimeter lomg and the body part is red in color. Thank you, XXXXXXX
Brief Answer:
Better to take antibiotic
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query.
Tick can cause a number of diseases apart from Lymes diseases.
It depends upon which micro organism the tick is carrying.
It is better if you take prophylactic antibiotic.
Capsule doxycycline 100 mg twice daily for 7 days should be sufficient.
It is safe and effective.
You can meet a doctor and discuss.
Let me know if you have any doubts.
Thank you.
