Question: I was prescribed levofloxacin 750 mg 1 pill per day for 5 days. Yesterday was my 5th day to take this medication and it feels like it was just starting to fight off my infection when I took the final pill. I am still having pain in my left chest/lung area and still coughing although less severe than it was. Should I insist that 2 to 3 additional pills be prescribed to completely knock out this infection?
Brief Answer:
Yes, you can take it for another 2 days and observe how you stay...

Yes, it's a good sign that the symptoms are improving, so you may insist on taking the antibiotic for another 2days and observe how you stay afterwards...
In the meanwhile, the CT-scan report should be readily available which will highlight the condition of the mass more specifically...
Hope this answers your query...
Let me know if I can assist you further...
