I Was Prescribed Triazolam For A Root Canal . I
Question: I was prescribed triazolam for a root canal. I have taken 3 Percocet 10mg today for back pain. Last one was over 5 hours ago. Can I take the triazolam?
Brief Answer:
Ok to take triazolam
Detailed Answer:
Hello, I'm Dr. Branch, thanks for using Ask a Doctor. Percocet has a duration of action of about 3-6 hours, so most of its effect would have passed by 5 hours. Also, there is no definite contraindication with triazolam, though both can cause sedation, so I would just watch out for that if you do take both of them together. So I would say it is safe to use the triazolam now, and if you need to use the Percocet again after taking the triazolam, that should be safe, just watch out for sedation.
I hope that helps, please let me know if you have any questions about any of that, and I would be glad to discuss it with you further.
