I Was Reading An Article About Heart Palpitations With Gerd

Question: I was reading an article about heart palpitations with gerd. I also have paroxymal afib but only 2 events in 7 years and both resolved within hours with sotalol. i dont take bp meds or blood thinner. just sotalol. so heres my question; I get a palpitation or two every day and almost always when I lie down or recline. the article I read discusses vagus nerve stimulation and how its much more prevalent while recumbant. I had my annual cardio check up this past fall with holter and echo. both were basically perfect. the palps are unnerving but I am always seeking insight and advice. so, what do you think? I dont smoke and I stopped drinking a while ago to further promote good health.

when I ask this same question to my cardiologist, he just looks at me and sort of smirks. I dont know if its arrogance or indifference.

Hello
After going through the medical query raised by you I can understand your concern for your health and I would like to tell you that we all get occasional ectopics a couple of times in a day and that is pretty normal and there is nothing to worry about.
Now if in the past you have got your holter monitoring done due to similar symptoms and nothing significant showed up in your holter report then it’s pretty obvious that there is nothing abnormal sort of rhythm that is happening, so just relax and follow with the advise and medications prescribed by your cardiologist.
Kind Regards
