Question: I was recently diagnosed with low potassium and prescribed supplements. Since taking the supplements, I have had shortness of breath and have now developed a productive cough. Are these symptoms related to the low potassium or the supplements?
Thank you.

Brief Answer:
No, these symptoms are not due to low potassium levels.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Ask a doctor forum.
I can understand your concern.
No, these symptoms are not due to low potassium levels or supplements.
These symptoms are suggestive of lung related diseases.
So get done chest x ray and PFT (Pulmonary Function Test).
Please let me know if you have already done this tests.
I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
