Question: I was recently hospitalized to rule out cauda equina syndrome or guillain barre syndrome. They are now questioning MS even though the last MRI was normal. we are waiting for the results of the spinal fluid. How long does it usually take and if not MS, what could be some other causes of fatigue, back pain, incontinence for 3.5 months, decreased sensation in right leg and saddle region, headaches, frequent tripping/falls, and body goes limp in high temperatures? I also have foot drop, Behcets, crohn's, gastroparesis, blood clots, asthma, absent/partial complex seizures, and interstitial cystitis diagnosed years ago.

Brief Answer:
It will take three to four days.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
It will take around three to four days for spinal fluid study.
Multiple sclerosis can be a possible diagnosis based on your symptoms.
Other possibilities are spondylopathies and various forms of neuromyelitis can also mimic multiple sclerosis. Disc prolapse can also presents with similar symptoms but can be easily diagnosed by MRI.
We can wait for spinal fluid analysis and plan further analysis later.
Hope I have answered your query.
Thanks
