I Was Told I Have Some Arthritis In My Hips

Question: I was told I have some arthritis in my hips from standing all day for years as a hairstylist.
I have had sciatica problems in the past with my left hip.
This pain now is in the right hip and is different. The more the activity, the worse it gets. I have had it for over 3 months now!! It started on the side of my right hip and is now on the side and right buttock. The last few days , the pain has oddly moved down the back of my legend come around to the ankle area and back up the FRONT of my lower leg (opposite side of the calf)!!! It seems very odd to me.

Could it be helped by a chiropractor or medical doctor? I have had a few massages but it is only slight temporary relief

Brief Answer:
Osteoarthritis possible

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor service.
I read your query and here is my advice.

I think that the pain you are actually having is caused by osteoarthritis of the hip but some more examinations are needed to diagnose it and see its conditions.
You may need to do a x-ray of hip and also the sacral spine. You may need to check it's conditions.
Meanwhile try to reduce movement. Use antinflamatory drugs such advil or naproxen for pain relief and inflammation.
I don't recommend you to do chiropractic neither massage without doctor's consultation.

Hope I have answered the question.

I thought that with osteoarthritis, movement helps. I thought that with the correct exercise, circulation is restored that it helps to keep things XXXXXXX I did know activity made it worse. It’s very difficult to sleep on my right side now as well because of the pain.

Brief Answer:
Moderate activity recommend

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear and thank you for asking again.
A light or moderate physical activity is recommended like walking around block or very easy exercise but not hard exercises. You should better talk to your doctor for a detailed exercising plan.

I think you may also use hyaluronic acid Injections or corticosteroid injections.
I don't think massage can help.
Take antinflamatory drugs such advil or naproxen for pain.
