I Was Treated With Coronary Angioplasty In One Of The Arteries
![default](/r/images/default.png)
Question: I am 41 Years old and had an attack 2 years back in April 2019 and was treated with coronary angioplasty in one of the arteries. Later when an Echo Doppler test was conducted an ASD measuring 30mm in size was detected which had been there since my birth. My doctor at that time advised me to wait for 2 years before taking any decision as to how it should be treated. Last week, when I consulted again a new Echo Doppler was conducted and the ASD was intact. My doctor has referred me to a cardiac surgeon for necessary follow up and action. I am uploading my latest prescription and the Echo Doppler report for your advice as to what operation do I need to undergo in such a case. Will it be a minor one or a major one like Bypass. Please advice.

Brief Answer:
Thanks for the reports
Detailed Answer:
See, the decision whether to go for a surgery or to go for a device closure can only be taken after thorough assessment of ASD size and structures.
For this a TEE should ideally be done. Only after that the decision can be taken. TEE is transesopageal echocardiography.
Kind Regards
