Question : I was walking thru the house barefoot and all the sudden it felt as if I'd stepped on a sticker or something bit me. Then both feet started tingling like they were on fire. The pain is hard to describe. it's like shooting pains going all through the bottom of both feet. It hurts to touch them. They are red but I don't see any bite marks of any kind. I did try soaking them in a hot towel but that did no good.

Hi and welcome. If you are diabetic or have some issues with immunity you should have antibiotics, amoxicilin for 5 days. Otherwise it can be treated with warm salty soaks, ibuprofen, keep legs elevated, and avoid long standing. It should improve within few days. However if swelling and redness spread, then it may indicate cellulitis or abscess formation and then medical consult is required. Wish you good health. Regards
