I Went To Eye Doctor Because Of Floaters In Eye.
Question: I went to eye Doctor because of floaters in eye. She dilated eye and said all looked okay, Then that night I noticed some quick flashes. Should I be concerned?
Brief Answer:
As explained below.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.
I have gone through the details and understand your concern. Eye floaters are usually harmless. You need not worry about it. They are age-related changes that occur, as the jelly-like substance (vitreous) inside your eyes becomes more liquid.
Moving your eyes up and down a few times will generally keep the floaters out of your vision. If it is troubling you too much or completely blocking your vision then you can visit your ophthalmologist for a vitrectomy (removal of vitreous) and they will replace it with a solution to help your eye maintain its
shape.
I hope this answered your query.

I have also noticed some flashes of light in cornet of my eye, Called eye Doctor and she said it is kind of normal. Should I be overly concerned about these flashes? They only last a second. I am seeing my eye Doctor in a month for a follow up.
Brief Answer:
As explained below.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Flashing of light can be due to retinal detachment or a normal aging process. I would suggest you visit your treating doctor for a detailed examination and to rule out retinal detachment.
Meanwhile, you can take care of your eyes by eating a balanced diet, wearing sunglasses when going ou tin sun and quit smoking if you do.
I hope this answered your query.
