Now I have swelling behind my right ear & swelling with tremendous neck & head pain. All my joints ache,I’m nauseated & have been in bed for 2 days. Brief Answer:
We need to exclude infection.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for posting your query.

I am Dr Sudhir Kumar, Neurologist, and I would try my best to help you.

I have noted your clinical details. Based on this, we need to exclude infection of ear, and mastoid (located behind the ear). As of now, you may start a course of antibiotics such as amoxicillin. Continue naproxen or diclofenac for pain relief, until you visit your doctor.

If symptoms persist, you may require scans of brain and neck.

I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.

Wishing you good health,
