Brief Answer:
If symptomatic you should be treated surgically.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to "Ask a Doctor " service.

I have read your query and the report you uploaded.

The results of Doppler ultrasound of carotid arteries states that there is a stenosis of 71% of the right internal carotid artery.

Treatment in cases of asymptomatic stenosis and less than 75% is medical( blood thinners, control of blood pressure, etc.).

If you experienced symptoms ( transient ischemic attack or stroke) you should be treated with either surgery ( endarterectomy ) or carotid stenting.

Discuss with your Neurologist or vascular Surgeon for these issues.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

I have consulted the neurologist here snd he has given medication Clopidogrel 75 for 3 months.
I am very scared after reading the bleeding that can occur from this medication.

I would really be grateful if you could give your view on this medication.

I am asthmatic and then doctor suggested this instead of aspirin. He said this medicine is more safe and effective.

I read through different web sources and made me upset about the bleeding that can happen.

About my shaving, frequent flying, excercises, my sinusitis, etc. Any bruises that can happen, hair cuts etc.

Is there any alternatives of blood
thinners?

I am taking budesonide powder inhalation for asthma.

Brief Answer:
Answered below.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back.

It is true that antiplatelet drugs such as clopidogrel may result in possible adverse effects including hemorrhage from minor injuries.

For this, is necessary to be careful during such treatment.

There are also other possibilities, with less possible adverse effects (but not zero) such as rivaroxaban, etc.

Aspirin also may be used with caution, if you don't experience any exacerbations of asthma, you can continue with aspirin.

Discuss with your Doctor for these issues.

Hope this helps.

Regards.
