Question: I%E2%80%99m a 58 years old woman, with hypertension.

I have slight pain in my left year.

I believe it could be due to taking long showers with my face to the water.

Brief Answer:
Otitis external possible.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor service.
I read your query and here is my advice.

I think the pain in left ear is not related to hypertension.
I think it can be otitis external or swimmer's ear.
During the showers with the head in water the water is trapped there, causing good environment for bacteria to grow and when you scratch it with cotton ball it can make infection worse.
You may need to go to ENT doctor to examine ear with otoscope and also clean the ear.
Then you can use ear drops with antibiotics to help infection heal.

Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
