Brief Answer:
Likely carpal tunnel syndrome

Detailed Answer:
Hello, I'm Dr. Branch, thanks for using 'Ask a Doctor'. The symptoms you describe, with numbness in the first three digits of your hand, are consistent with carpal tunnel syndrome, which is also a fairly common condition. Whether or not this is related to your previous surgery, I'm not sure, but it is possible that scar tissue from the surgery has made the carpal tunnel canal more narrow and made it easier for you to get carpal tunnel syndrome.

I would recommend seeing a doctor so that they can do an examination to confirm this diagnosis. For mild cases the treatment is initially usually wearing a wrist brace and/or steroid injection, and for severe cases or cases that don't improve, surgery can be done.

I hope that helps, please let me know if you have any other questions about that, and I would be glad to discuss it with you further.
