Question: I%E2%80%99m worried that I might have a blood clot and I am just looking for relief and peace of mind. The middle vein on top of my middle finger tends to twitch and move over the middle finger bone. I%E2%80%99ve visably seen it move from one side of the bone to the other. It also feels tense and like it is crampjng a bit too in that region.

i noticed the slight pain, cramping, and twitching the most after using a mouse for my computer. when im using my middle finger to click on the mouse.

What is this and how do I get rid of it? I have had it for about two months now.

the red highlight is the vein i am talking about and the yellow circle is where the cramping feels like its coming from and also where ive seen the vein move frkm the right side of my middle finger bone to the left side.

Brief Answer:
Not a serious condition.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service.

I have read your query.

First of all, don't worry, even if it was a blood clot in the finger vein, it does not cause any serious harm.

Minimal trauma may cause such problems and since it is more noticeable while you work with the mouse, try to rest your hand for a few days.

The cramping may be caused by impaired blood flow.

Alcohol compresses may help in a reduction, heparin containing creams also may help if used locally.

If still in doubt, it's advisable to see your Doctor.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Thank you for answering, just so i understand it though, I%E2%80%99ve seen my vein slide from the right side of my middle finger bone on the backside of my palm to the left side and quickly jump back. It comes with a weird ticklish feeling. You%E2%80%99re saying that%E2%80%99s ok?

The yellow arrows in this next picture point out the vein I%E2%80%99m referring to.

If so, how do make it stop or heal it?

Brief Answer:
I would explain as follows.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back.

I saw the pictures that you uploaded.

That is a really small vein to be concerned about.

Since you noticed that working with the mouse is a possible trigger, try to avoid it for a while.

You may put some ice on it to calm any inflammation.

Hope this helps.

Take care.
