Is this case normal? Or means misscarage?
Brief Answer:
Seems to be blighted ovum and needs to be removed.
Detailed Answer:
Hi Sahar.muhsin,
Thanks for the query.
An empty healthy gestational sac without an embryo is called a blighted ovum. Here it's only a chemical pregnancy, but no fetus is formed.
Such pregnancy occurs once in a while..&is just by chance...it does not repeat. So don't be scared.
Such pregnancy needs to be terminated as it is not likely to offer a child. it may abort spontaneously over time.
You should consult your Gynecologist for further management.
I hope that helps. Any follow up query is welcome.
Thanks

Brief Answer:
You can have second opinion to satisfy yourself.
Detailed Answer:
Hi Sahar.muhsin,
Thank you for the follow up query.
Your USG reports seem to be confusing.
-First report at 6 weeks pregnancy, showing so called small heart beat..so you were followed up in 8th week &found the sac...developing ,but without embryo (no question of heart beat.)
*The fact that the gestational sac was developing, empty&embryo failed to develop...while yolk sac big(not being used up for fetal development), indicates that the hormones were still active&so I thought of blighted ovum.
*It is possible to arrest fetal growth,(abortion)if the heart was observed very week..but then the sac would have shown extinct fetal parts in it in your second usg. This also supports blighted ovum as a cause.
** In case you are doubtful&hoping for late development of fetus....I would suggest to have a second opinion, have one more USG..to find the exact cause &status of pregnancy.&then decide the management under direct consultation of your gynecologist.
Removal is not urgent...it can wait till you are satisfied OR bleeding starts on itself.
I hope that satisfies you. Any more follow up query is welcome.
Thanks.

Hi Sahar.muhsin,
Thanks for the follow up query.
To be XXXXXXX from the begining only, after thinking over both of your USG reports ,I had an impression that it was blighted ovum, where it's only a chemical pregnancy, and the fetus fails to develop.(I have explained about it in the answer before).Even if it was delayed ovulation&conception..
the second scan should show at least fetal pole (a sign of fetal development)As it is not seen...in my view there is very very scanty chance of fetal growth.
It is unusual to see weak/slow heart activity in first USG...The second scan shows a smooth gestational sac..without any products of extinct embryo&heart sounds are abscent ...All these provided readings gave me my impression of blighted ovum...which
Any way, there is a difference in suggesting some diagnosis & observing the patient&her scans personally.I also observed that you were too much concerned about the pregnancy.
*Considering all these points,I advised to get a second opinion to have a final impression about pregnancy status. This would help you yourself be satisfied&accept the treatment advised with open mind.
I hope I am clear now about my opinion&also background for it.
* Please get a second opinion of an expert gynecologist for physical examination&USG scanning to pin point exact position of the pregnancy.
Thanks.
