Brief Answer:
Taking cymbalta at night would be reasonable

Detailed Answer:
Hello, I'm Dr. Branch, thanks for using Ask a Doctor. As you have experienced, Cymbalta is known to cause drowsiness and dizziness. Since Cymbalta is usually only taken once a day, and it would be just as effective taken at any time, it would be very reasonable to take Cymbalta at night to see if that helps with your symptoms.

If you still have symptoms that are bothering you even when taking it at night, I would discuss this with your doctor, and another antidepressant that might work better for you may be considered. But hopefully the change in time of the dose will help make these side effects more manageable.

Also, especially if you have just started taking the Cymbalta, sometimes these side effects can improve over time, so I would at least give it a couple of weeks if you still have them, to see if they get any better.

I hope that helps, please let me know if you have any questions about any of that, and I would be glad to discuss it with you further.
