If A Condom Is Used During Vaginal Intercourse, What Is

Thank you.
Regarding HPV (genital wart)
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
HPV is a mucocutaneous infection. Transmission is through direct contact with infected genital skin and mucosa. Even though a condom reduces the risk of transmission of HPV, it does not entirely prevent it. This is because a condom covers only a portion of the shaft of the penis.
The skin at the base of the penile shaft, adjacent pubic region and base of the scrotum is exposed and therefore skin to skin contact with infected genital skin or sexual partner during intercourse can lead to transmission of HPV.
Hope I have answered your query.

Regarding HPV
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Infection with HPV can be clinically silent. However, the time from infection to the clinical appearance of warts may vary from days to weeks. When they appear they are cauliflower or papillomatous growths on genital skin or mucosa. Yes, HPV infection can be transmitted through fomites but genital HPV is usually transmitted only through sexual intercourse with an infected partner. Non-genital warts may be transmitted through fomites I.e sharing contaminated things.
take care
