Question: If someone has hsv2 can they give you hsv1

I slept with someone that unknowingly has Hsv2. I used a condom there on medication. How likely am I to get Hsv2 or get Hsv1 even if they don’t have hsv1

Dear sir, I have gone through your question and I understand your concerns but an infected person with hsv2 cannot transmit hsv1. however , you can still get the infection of hsv2 from kissing even if you were using condom although unlikely unless an open sore is present ( an outbreak of infection). So do I need to get tested??? Herpes can sometimes present no symptoms for long periods of times. Blood test are not really effective only a few are specially checking for antibodies when should I get tested.

Dear sir, Symptoms usually appear after 2-4 weeks post infection but in case of no symptoms it is recommended to wait for 6 weeks post exposure for the test to be accurate.. The most accurate testing is detection of IgG antibodies in blood.. I hope you find this helpful
