I’m 28M And This Problem Has Been Frustrating Me For
Question: I’m 28M and this problem has been frustrating me for several years. Several weeks or even months will go by with no problems whatsoever. Then, all of a sudden, I will wake up one day and my muscles will be super tight. Tight to the point that if I work at a computer or phone screen for 15-30 minutes, my back and neck will be sore and my vision will be off for several hours. Usually, I can wake up and “crack” just about every muscle in my body, but when I’m in one of my spells stretching is really painful and doesn’t seem to be productive at all. All this is accompanied by EXTREME fatigue. Like, have to leave work early so I can come home at 3pm and pass out. Sleeping extra doesn’t seem to do much for it. I have thought before that it was dehydration, but it doesn’t seem to respond even when I drink 1-2 gallons of water a day and make sure I’m consuming enough sodium/potassium in the form of added electrolytes. I’ll also add that sometimes when it gets really bad it is also accompanied by pins and needles feelings in my face and hands as well as a loss in coordination.
More info about me:
-I’m otherwise totally healthy. Only other diagnosis is depression, for which I take 150mg Wellbutrin ED.
-I eat very clean and drink maybe 1-2 alcoholic drinks 1-2x/week on average.
-I regularly sleep 7-8 hours per night.
-I exercise 5x/week, usually a mix of standard weightlifting, CrossFit type workouts and running.
-No, I’m not on any PEDs and I’ve been tested multiple times for Rhabdo.
-I consume a moderate amount of caffeine (avg 300mg/d), I take a multivitamin as well as an additional magnesium supplement.
Can anyone offer some insight? This is literally ruining my life.
Edit: I just had a full blood panel done. Only things that came back out of the ordinary were low uric acid and low globulin.

Brief Answer:
The symptoms can be related to anxiety.
Detailed Answer:
Hi again dear,
I already reviewed the attached reports and the results are normal.
So, in my opinion the symptoms can be related to depression.
Depression can cause muscle soreness and also fatigue.
I see that you are already using Wellbutrin, which is an antidepressant medication.
It is many times related to anxiety as a side effect of this treatment.
So, I suggest to consult with your psychiatrist for an alternative treatment.
Meanwhile, I suggest to continue following a healthy lifestyle, eating healthy, drinking liquids and taking the supplements .
A vitamin B complex supplement would be very helpful in books your energy.
Hope it helps.
Feel free to contact me again for further evaluation.
Take care,
