Question: I’m 59 year old healthy female, I have had odd eye things happen nothing bothersome, 6 years ago for a few years if I came in from bright sun to a dim lit room my pupils would dilate in and out in and out soon as I turn on a light it stops instantly, a couple times at night in bed I could see odd shadows or lines going back and forth as I move my eyes , now 3 or 4 times soon as I get out of bed in the morning I see black oval around my eyes like I’m wearing black googles , I quickly hit the light switch and it stops immediately, I saw my optometrist her field vision machine is not working but she thinks my eyes seem great , I see her once per year , I do have stress , I’m a worrier for absolutely no good reason, could stress be my biggest problem !!!

I can certainly understand your concern.

I have worked through your attached query in detail.

These symptoms may point towards a retinal pathology (disease of back of the eye).

These changes could so represent glaucoma.

Although it is not causing any significant discomfort to you at the moment, it may lead to sudden visual loss.

It's advisable to consider a Fundus eye examination at the eye to diagnose it and treat accordingly.
