Question: I’m a 60 year old female. Started Augmentin Thursday night for sinus / bronchial infection. Saturday had excessive flatulence accompanied by yellow oily discharge when using the toilet. Sunday uneventful. Today (Monday) normal bowel movement followed later by considerable orange oil in the toilet (no bowel movement) and excessive flatulence. 3 months ago tiny amount of yellow drops in toilet 1 day after eating fried cod. 1.5 months ago small amount of yellow oil drops in toilet 1 day after eating considerable amount of cashews and dark chocolate. Otherwise no symptoms other than feeling bloated today.

Main side effect of Augmenting is gut related problem. Flatulence mucous oily secretion loose stools etc are all side effects of Augmentin therapy.
I would suggest you to switch over from Augmentin to Azithromycin tablet(which are also very effective in treating sinus problems).
Along with it start taking a probitics like vsl#3 twice daily for few days. It would improve the gut flora and would help to improve digestion.
