Question: I'm a 68 yr old caucasian male. I'm 5'10" 241 lbs. I am already taking blood pressure medication and my blood pressure was under control with it. Now my PB is elevated again, Upper 140-mid 150 to Mid-70;s to mid -80's. Should I be worried? I am trying to lose weight. I don't smoke or drink.

Detailed Answer:
Hello Sir

After going through the medical details provided by you I can understand your concern for your health and I would like to tell you that there is nothing to worry for as your blood pressure is just slightly above the recommended range for your age group.

For the current scenario I would like to suggest you to keep on taking the medication which you were taking for BP and maintain healthy lifestyle by going for daily morning walks and taking healthy diet with low salt intake.

And another important thing is to stay stress free as stress and anxiety also raises the blood pressure.

Hope to have been helpful.

Kind Regards
Dr Bhanu Partap
