Brief Answer:
Details below.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Welcome to Ask a Doctor. I am Dr Ramadevi Wani.
I will be answering your concerns today.

If you can take leave and stay at home, it would be the best option. But in these hard times, it is unlikely that you will get leave. You can request your supervisor and get transferred to other departments like telephone consultations, administrative duties, etc in the hospital. It is definitely not advisable to be in direct patient facing roles.

If that is also not possible and you need to work in ER only , then strictly follow social distancing in the work place. Wash your hands frequently. Consider every patient entering ER as a potentially COVID infected patient and take precautions. Use PPE while caring for patient .
If you have further concerns, do write to me.
