I'm Concerned About A Complete Recent Blood Panel. I Have
Question: I'm concerned about a complete recent blood panel. I have no symptoms of liver disease and aside from my bulging discs and sciatica there is nothing apparently wrong with me. I went for my annual. My cholesterol has come down (still slightly above 200, but way better and trending downwards). But the CBC is what has my doctor concerned. I take no medication, drink no alcohol, don't take tylenol. I weight 138 and am 5'6.5". I've recently incurred a huge stressor - I am a caregiver for an 80 year old man who came to me incontinent and unable to get himself into a wheelchair. Now he has a commode and can get himself into it, but things were pretty stressful for a while. My doctor didn't ask me anything about that . I have taken no vitamins for a year, but have been on a plant based diet. I only took turmeric and neem as supplements daily. Now I am back on taking a multivitamin since being vegan I might be missing something.

Brief Answer:
CBC within range except slightly low WBC count
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query on Ask A Doctor forum.
The complete blood count (CBC) shows all parameters within normal range except slightly low white blood counts.
The is no apparent cause of low white blood counts since all other parameters are within range.
For sciatica and nerve disc bulge you need to consult your orthopedician for management which includes rest, pain killers and back exercises.
Ideally cholesterol should be below 200 mg/ do which can be achieved by life style modifications.
Thanks and take care
