I'm Experiencing Irregular Bleeding: I Finished A 7 Day Period

I'm in a long term committed relationship with my partner of 4 years. I've only had one other sexual partner prior to this. I had a check up at my GP surgery around July last year due to these symptoms, tested positive for chlamydia; went to my GUM clinic who game me antibiotics and re-tested me (for everything) and this came back negative. My partner also bought the anti-biotic and took this simultaneously.
I've not had children. The dryness has resolved but adoc periods continue (such as this week). Their frequency impacts my quality of life and relationship.
Quite often after sex, I also have vaginal itching - sometimes a period follows this.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for sharing your health concern with us.
I have gone through your query and would like to offer some information.
Medication can cure 95 percent of the infection in Chlamydia. Test should be repeated after 3 months of completion of treatment.
In the current scenario, I would ask you to repeat the test and also check if your partner has been cured.
Also, a hormone assay can be done if you are not on any hormone pills now to check for any imbalance.
Please maintain proper genital hygiene. Do not douche or use strong soap solutions to clean the genital area. Instead, use mild antiseptic solution.
Recurrence is a common problem in vaginal infection. Prolonged treatment is needed to ensure complete cure.
Hope you find this information helpful. Please let me know if I can assist you further.
regards,
Shanti.V.
