I’m Feeling Pain In My Knee. What Can I Do
Question: I’m feeling pain in my knee. What can I do to fix this?
It feels like I need to crack it to relieve the pain. It%E2%80%99s the same with the thing we do with our hands.
Brief Answer:
Can be mild joint inflammation.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The pain in the knee at your age can happen due to an injury or mild inflammation of the joint capsule or bursae. Cracking the joint usually does not affect the pain as it happens due to pressure changes in the joint. You need to take a mild pain killer, give rest to the knee, use a pair of knee supports and apply a local analgesic gel after doing a hot compress. This should reduce the pain in next 5-7 days. In case the pain is persistent or increasing or is associated with redness and swelling of the joint then you need to consult an orthopedician for stronger prescription medicines.
I hope this answers your query.
In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.
Wishing you good health.

I play basketball these revent days. Could it be that it%E2%80%99d because of me playing? But, after playing, I didn%E2%80%99t feel any pain. All I can remember is the pain started after waking up in the morning. It feels like the knee cap%E2%80%99s been dislocated, but it shouldn%E2%80%99t be the case. I don%E2%80%99t know. It feels like it%E2%80%99s ticking inside. I don%E2%80%99t know how to properly explain it.
Also, before the pain, I%E2%80%99m not able to crack this knee as loud as I can now, specially compared to my other knee which I%E2%80%99m not able to crack and make a sound. It really is an uncomfortable/painful feeling.
I remember bumping this knee so hard at someone else%E2%80%99s knee. Can you please give me instructions on how to fix this. Will this even subside? I%E2%80%99m talking about the pain. I%E2%80%99m terribly afraid about that thought of this not healing and just staying permanently.
Brief Answer:
Can be a ligament tear.
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
The feeling of sound along with pain with a history of injury can cause a ligament tear. This needs an MRI scan to find out any internal injury in the knee. Do avoid all the painful movements and use a knee brace for an extra support.
Hope my answer is helpful.
