I'm Getting Ready For International Travel, And I'm Getting The

Question: I'm getting ready for international travel, and I'm getting the hepatitis A and B vaccinations. I've already received the initial A and B shots a month ago. I went to the same Dr today for the 1 month follow up for the Hepatitis B vaccination, but instead, they gave me another A and B vaccinations. I thought the schedule for Hepatitis A was 0 and 6 months; they told me 0, 1, and 6. However, everything I read states 0 and 6 months. So, (1) did they make a mistake, and (2) is my health in jeopardy?
Brief Answer:
No, please don't worry
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
It is true that today 2 doses in 0and 6 months are recommended, but previous guidelines recommended 3 doses on 0,1,6.
So your doctor may have followed these older recommendations. But even if he made mistake, it won't be harmful since additional doses don't have negative effects on health especially for hepatitis vaccines.
So don't worry.
Wish you good health.
