Question: I'm taking nexium 40mg right now for my GERD my stomach hasn't been right in two weeks. Anything I eat is hard for my stomach I'm barely have a week on the medication it first gave me diarrhea then constipated I'm taking fiber gummies with it and today I ate a turkey sandwich and it made me feel nausea should I keep on taking for another 3 weeks or should I do two weeks?

I have gone to the emergency room 2 times and it has been heartburn and chest pains but the chest pain is gone now it constipated and nausea
Brief Answer:
Taking it for two weeks is enough.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor's service.
I read your query and here is my advice.
You are having typical symptoms related to Nexium side effects like diarrhea, abdominal pain, constipation and nausea.
I think taking Nexium for two weeks is enough and you can stop it avoid doing another week.
I think that you can also do helicobacter pylori test to check if this bacteria is the reason for your stomach pain and if you need antibiotics about it.
Avoid foods that can trigger your symptoms , acidic foods, fruit juices, sauces and spices.
Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

How long should I stay away from these food and should I go see a specialist because anything I eat I burp alot personally i feel like damage my stomach than just heartburn
Brief Answer:
You need to visit a specialist.
Detailed Answer:
I think you should visit a specialist to get tested for helicobacter pylori which can be the main cause of gastritis and gastric ulcera.
In case you have helicobacter pylori you should get treated with antibiotics and it will resolve this issue of heartburn and gastritis.
If you get treated you don't have to stay away from this foods for longer.
