About 5 days ago I noticed a white small bump with a black dot in the middle. Soon it became a sore and has not healed after 5 days. I am freaking out and don’t know what this is? It hurts a little, but I cover it with a band aid. I have been in a committed relationship for over a year and do not want to ruin it with this. Can any one help? What do you think this is?
Appreciate your help!

Brief Answer:
possibility of an STD
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to ask a doctor service. I have gone through your query and viewed the image.
I can see a sore on your penile shaft which seems to have a clean base and well defined raised edges. It could be an STD- I would like to rule out possibility of Syphilis. You may take a blood test for it. First and foremost I suggest you to visit a venereologist who would examine the sore for induration and look for lymph nodes in inguinal region which are characteristics of Syphilitic sores.
Hope I have answered your query.Let me know if you need any more assistance

Thank you for the response - to clarify you believe it is NOT syphilis? If you think it is, how long can you be infected with syphilis without showing symptoms? Over a year?
Do you think this is genital herpes? If not, any other ideas? Looking at other pictures it does not look like genital herpes. Do you have any initial thoughts?
Will schedule a doc. apt ASAP.

Hi.
I am sorry for delay.
This could be syphilis. Intact that is my first possibility. A syphilis sore may look very much like this- well defined, clean floor and its base is indurated ( which can only be felt by palpation). Moreover a syphiltic sore is painless. There is regional lymphadenopathy.
On the other hand, genital herpes usually presents with multiple painful superficial sores rather than a solitary sore like this.
A syphilitic sore usually appears 9-90 days after infection.

Went to urgent care and they thought it was genitals Herpes HSV 1 from oral sex which I had with my gf about a week ago. Getting test done today.
Could I have contracted syphilis from someway other than sex? I’ve been in a committed relationship for over a year now and have only had sex with my partner.

Could this possibly be anything else? I’m just super stressed about it and have no idea how I could have gotten syphilis other than my girlfriend who is a doctor as well.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Syphilis is usually transmitted through sex in adults. What blood tests did they do? I could be wrong, may be it is herpes. I just kept a possibility of syphilis! Its very hard to be accurate by just having a look at the Images and with limited information. Testing is anyways advisable for a confirmation of diagnosis and excluding other possibilities.
