Question: In November 2019 my liver enzymes were raised to sgpt 100 and sgot 84 4 weeks later it showed that the sgpt was down to 49 and the sgot down to 42 Now 8 months later it is up to sgpt is 174 and sgot 142 I haven't had alcohol in 29 years. I am overweight by 30lbs and I am short waisted. For a year I used doxylamine for sleep and recently I have been taking tylenol when in pain. Also I had a CT scan for my spleen 8 months ago and was told they didn't see a problem with my liver but they didn't really look for anything at that time. I'm really concerned

Brief Answer:
Nothing much to worry.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
As per your description your liver enzymes are slightly on the higher side, however there is no significant increase.
Most probably it is due to obesity and excessive body fat. Long standing obesity can cause minor liver damage.
In your case the CT scan has been done and found to be normal.
Try to lose extra weight and do routine physical exercises.
Hope I have answered your query,
Thanks

the CT scan was done 8 mos ago and they were concentrating on the spleen so I'm not sure they looked hard at the liver also I was under the impression 174 sgpt was pretty high and 142 sgot was high but I'm happy to hear that it isn't as bad as I fear. I plan on not using any over the counter medications and losing twenty pounds. hopefully that will make a difference Thank you

Brief Answer:
No medicines are required as of now.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
CT scan can pick up minor lesions in the liver even though it is intended for spleen.
As of now no medicines are required.
Avoid alcohol and substances that might harm your liver.
Thanks
