Brief Answer:
Please give info about testosterone:

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for asking!
I have gone carefully through your concern.
Would you please specify if you checked testosterone and what was the reason why did you check SHBG and the other hormones? Are the liver and renal function normal?
Would you also attach the results as given by the lab to see the normal ranges of the hormones for this lab.
Will be a pleasure to help you further.
Best wishes,
Dr.mirjeta

Hello! Thank you so very much for your quick reply and of course. i just uploaded the report, it;s the one from a little over a year ago. i do blood work every year or so and the last three have shown poretty much all the same, with the only outliers being the SHBG, LDL and IGF-1. As for the rationale, pretty much only to check and be safe, routine check-up if you will, and yes, liver / renal is perfect as you'll see in the blood work. I'm going to get blood work redone this week but i wanted some insight before as i'm thinking i'll be the same.

Brief Answer:
About high IGF-1;

Detailed Answer:
Hi again,
I have gone carefully through your lab results
Yes, IGF-1 and SHBG has been high in 2017.
High IGF-1 levels suggest for overproduction of growth hormone from the pituitary gland.It is confirmed by an MRI of the pituitary gland ( if it still persists high).
SHBG usually are increased in liver diseases, overactive thyroid or overproduction of cortisol, but in your case none of them is responsible. High IGF-1 may be a possible cause of increased SHBG.
LDL is not to be concerned in these ranges.
So i would suggest to check Growth hormone and IGF1 again, if they result high a MRI of the pituitary gland should be performed.
Hope the information will help.
Best wishes,
Dr.mirjeta

Hi there Doctor! Referencing our earlier thread, i re-did my blood work and there are some challenges for sure, here's hoping you can offer some insight and thank you in advance. I've uploaded the results and while IGF-1, SHBG and LDL are still High, now C-Reactive Protein is really really high and my testosterone production, while still in normal range, dropped by over 50%. Are you able to share your thoughts? Thank you evry much. XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
About high IgF1 and low testosterone;

Detailed Answer:
Hi again,
I have gone carefully through your attached reports.
Free testosterone results low due to high SHBG.

As i suggested before you need to check Growth hormone together with IGF1 and discuss with your endocrinologist to plan a MRI of pituitary gland to rule out a pituitary adenoma secreting growth hormone that may be the most probable cause of the altered lab results.

Wishing you good health.
Best wishes,
Dr.mirjeta

Brief Answer:
About your lab alterations;

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back!
Proteine C reactive is high, suggesting for an acute inflammation or infection, it may explain the low iron too.
A detailed clinical examination would be of help to find out the infection or inflammation site.
A slightly elevated LH suggests poor primary gonadal failure ( testicular failure).
There are some alterations that need a detailed history, clinical examination to decide about further examinations.
You need to see an endocrinologist in person to make the proper diagnosis of all alterations.
Best wishes,
Dr.mirjeta
