Insect Bite, Very Painful
anti inflammatory meds and warm compress may help
Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
Insect bites can cause an inflammatory response that may be associated with pain and swelling.
In some cases, they can become infected, particularly if they are itching and the scratching then causes bacteria to go under the skin.
To reduce the pain, need to reduce the inflammation. This means using anti inflammatory meds such as ibuprofen or cataflam or celebrex or naproxen.
A warm compress to the area can also help to relieve your pain , this can be done 2 to 3 times a day for 10 to 15 mins.
If there is any itching at all then an anti histamine should be added eg benadryl, claritine, zyrtec , allegra
If there is no pain relief then infection would need to be considered and you may need a course of antibiotics from your doctor
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
