Detailed Answer:
Hi...
Welcome to Ask a Doctor.
I an Dr Ajeet XXXXXXX
Most common and widely seen such symptomatology is Eczema (also called Atopic dermatitis). It manifests as dry ,itchy, red skin with small, raised bumps on the skin, including elbow
Treatment includes medicated creams — that can soothe the itching and stop new outbreaks.Hydro cortisone cream is mostly used.Aloe Vera gel is used to moisturize the lesion.Anti histaminics like loratadine and levocetrizine are the drugs that can be used to relieve itching.
Please let me know since how much time are these lesions present on your body.
If I receive such a patient in my hospital I also rule out Dermatitis herpetiformis (DH) which is an itchy skin disease that’s characterized by clusters of small blisters and bumps.
It is best diagnosed with a skin biopsy and a microscopic examination. Sometimes, a direct immunofluorescence test is done in which tissue staining with a XXXXXXX will show the presence of IgA antibody deposits.
The symptoms of DH, including bumps on your elbow improve on removing gluten from diet.Sometimes a drug called dapsone is used to suppress the skin response and improve symptoms.
Please send me a pic of your lesion which will help me to evaluate me further.
Also let me know if you are on certain medications because some drug reactions present like this.
Hope that I have answered your query.Waiting for your revert.I will be glad to answer the follow-up queries that you may have.
